MAX gene

MAX gene

The MAX gene plays an important role in regulating the life cycle of a cell.  Mutations in this gene may lead to Pheochromocytoma, a type of benign tumor that starts in the adrenal glands and causes the cells to produce too many hormones.  This can cause symptoms such as headaches, sweating, and increased heart rate.
